The “Definitely Not Coordinating with Stephen Colbert Super PAC” has come out with their first negative ad which targets frontrunner Mitt Romney. The ad is the first to be released since Colbert relinquished control of his super PAC over to his friend, Jon Stewart, so that Colbert could “explore” a run in the South Carolina presidential primary. According to press release from the pro-Colbert super PAC, the ad “begins airing today in a major ad buy that will blanket South Carolina from Charleston all the way to North Charleston.” A video of the ad can be seen to the left.
The ad calls Mitt Romney a “serial killer” based on Romney’s that “corporations are people.” According to the pro-Colbert super PAC, if corporations really are people then Romney effectively murdered “people” during his time with Bain Capital. The ad goes as far as to call Romney “Mitt the Ripper” and ends with cartoon version of Romney putting various companies through a wood chipper.
