After a 48 hour forced hiatus from the 21st century, I have returned.
Many of you have probably heard of the nor'easter that blew through New England this past weekend. I lived through it. Some places in Massachusetts got 30 inches of snow in a 12 hour period, some got none. However, the destruction was throughout. Downed power lines, trees all over the place, branches to and fro, and nobody with power. That was the nightmare that we were lucky enough to wake up to yesterday morning. My area received a few inches of wet, heavy snow that caused a shutdown of everything and anything and a postponing of Halloween to later this week.
I'm one of the lucky few to be on the same grid as a school, so our power came back fairly quickly (though not soon enough), but if anyone can remember back to the days without electricity, running water, and TV (roughly 1980, as I understand it), you can understand exactly what towns like mine are trying to recover from.
But, I'm back online. End of story. You people didn't get rid of me yet. Hello world, this column is officially zombiefied.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
