I really feel sorry for the love child of Arnold.
I read on the news today that Mr. SomethingIcan'tspell jr was forced to skip his middle school graduation today for his own safety. Apparently, the paparazzi had been camping out of his school waiting for the event. Apparently, he's also been pulled from school.
Apparently, if I were him, I would be more than devastated.
In a few short week(s) since the story initially broke, his world has been torn apart from every angle. He's been ripped from his friends and his life has basically been ruined. Instead of being "Billy", he is now "That love child of Arnold's". He is probably being hounded by the cameras, all waiting for that picture that will make the photographer very rich. I feel really sorry for the kid. He has done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment except being born.
I mean, it's only middle school graduation, but I remember that day as one of my personal most proudest moments. I was so excited to get up on that stage and receive my diploma. I remember the date vividly, actually, and will be able to travel back to that moment in a few weeks when my sister walks that same stage.
He will never get to experience that. He is going to spend tonight hiding out somewhere while his friends get their deserved glory. He will actually never get to see his friends in the same way that he used to, because he will constantly be stalked by people with cameras. He is being used by adults, and because of his father's mistakes, he is paying a lot of the price.
His father should be ashamed and more importantly, feeling very sorry right now. This is truly only the beginning for the boy. His entire life, as I have said many times by now, has been changed for the worse. He is being dehumanized into an object for use by any man motivated by money.
This circles back to an argument that I make now and then. I would love to see a law passed that would make it illegal and punishable by jail time and huge fine to take a picture of a minor for commercial use (aka paparazzi) without parental permission. This would make the lives of children of celebrities much easier since the cameras wouldn't be following them to hell and back. If this law were in place today, the boy would not be forced to skip graduation. He would not be forced to drop out of school. He would be able to live his life normally, with only a genetic connection added, instead of becoming an object for others to use.
If my every movement were being tracked by people I had never met because my father made a mistake, I know my life would end there and then.
